Saunas: What’s the big deal? It’s all about the BIG benefits!
Previously we discussed some of the benefits of sauna bathing like improved cardiovascular health, improved muscle function and recovery time, detoxifying your body of heavy metals, and improved mental health. But those aren’t the only benefits of regular sauna use! This time we will discuss benefits like better immunity, improved sleep, weight loss, and can actually ease chronic pain!
So how can a sweat session boost your immunity? Due to many factors in our everyday life, our bodies become inflamed. This inflammation causes harm and can decrease our ability to fight off illnesses. Through regular sessions in a sauna, we begin to release toxins and relieve this inflammation as well as altering the levels of immune cells resulting in an immunity boost! In addition to inflammation, a lot of us have sleep issues or don’t get enough good sleep. Sleep is so important to leading a productive life of quality! Sweating it out in a sauna can improve your sleep by relaxing the muscles and the mind. Sometimes the stress and busyness of our lives causes muscle tension or an overactive mind. The use of a sauna on an average of three times a week (roughly) was proven to relieve enough stress to improve sleep quality, relieve muscle tension, and improve mood to see a noticeable difference in quality of life as well as longevity. With a decrease in inflammation and better sleep quality, another amazing benefit comes to light: easing chronic pain. Consistent sweat sessions have actually been linked to relieving the severity of pain in those who suffer from it regularly.
A big draw to sauna usage has been the revelation that saunas can actually promote weight loss. There’s a large percentage of the population that are looking to shed a few pounds whether for health reasons or to boost their self-confidence. Either way, it is true that saunas can promote weight loss! But how? Regular usage has been linked to regulation of appetite, increasing metabolism, and even burning body fat when coupled with a healthy lifestyle.
Research has proven that there are big benefits to sauna bathing! What are your thoughts? Not convinced yet? Well, we highly recommend you give it a try! Contact us to try our sauna at the Midtown location prior to the grand opening of Solitude!
Stay healthy! Stay well!
