Improve your health NOW!

- Start Small: Like beginning anything and attempting to create a habit, starting off small is not only more manageable but also proven to help you stick to a habit or routine long term. New to exercise? Pick one or two times a week to squeeze in a quick, easy workout. Once you feel like that is doable, build from there. Length of time, intensity, and/or how many times a week you are participating in physical activity.
- Take your Pick: Maybe you are like the majority of people and don’t really enjoy exercising. That’s okay! There are so many forms of exercise and ways to get in your physical activity. Try to pick something you enjoy so that you are more comfortable. Being able to enjoy your physical activity and feeling comfortable will help you stick to your new routine. As you build momentum in your fitness journey, start to expand and try new things!
- Building Momentum:
Speaking of building momentum, by establishing a consistent exercise routine, you create momentum that makes it easier to stay committed. Once exercise becomes a habitual part of your daily or weekly routine, it becomes second nature. Consistently showing up for exercise helps to strengthen the habit, making it more likely that you’ll stick with it for the long term.
Consistency allows your body to adapt and progress. By consistently challenging your muscles, cardiovascular system, and flexibility, you provide the stimulus needed for growth and improvement. Over time, consistency allows you to increase the intensity, duration, or complexity of your workouts to continue seeing results.
Regular exercise has well-documented benefits for mental and emotional well-being. Consistency with exercise helps reduce stress, improve mood, and boost overall mental health. By incorporating exercise consistently into your weekly routine, you provide yourself with a reliable and effective coping mechanism for life’s challenges.

Disease Prevention and Management:
Consistent exercise plays a crucial role in preventing and managing chronic diseases. Regular physical activity has been associated with a reduced risk of various health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain forms of cancer. By consistently engaging in exercise, you improve your overall health and reduce the risk factors for these diseases. There’s no time like the present to start to live a healthier, more active life! Even if you didn’t make a New Year’s resolution or start on January 1st, be intentional about taking care of your health. Your mind and body will thank you! Remember, start small, pick something you are comfortable with, and you will gain momentum as you progress!
