The Benefits of Living an Active Life

Living an active life has many benefits. By being active, we can improve not only our physical health, but our mental health and overall quality of life!

Here’s how living an active life can benefit YOU:

  • 1

Healthy Heart: When you regularly participate in exercise (specifically cardio), you benefit your heart. Having a healthy heart is key to a healthy body, longevity, and overall vitality in our daily lives!

  • 2

Neurogenesis: Exercise has been found to stimulate the production of new neurons in the brain, a process known as neurogenesis. This can help improve memory, learning, and overall cognitive function.

  • 3

Slows aging: Regular exercises slows down our biological “clock” by boosting immunity, improving our cardiovascular system, keeping our brains healthier, and keeping our joints/muscles functioning properly.

  • 4

Enhanced mood and reduced stress: Exercise has been proven to boost endorphin levels and improve mood. When you’re in a positive mental state, you’re better able to focus, concentrate, and perform cognitive tasks more effectively.

To experience the benefits of active living, try to incorporate regular exercise into your schedule. It could be as simple as walking around your neighborhood daily, light weight training sessions weekly, or finding a physical activity you can enjoy with friends, family, or individually! Researchers have found that 30 minutes of activity five days a week can help you stay ‘younger’ longer and help your mind remain sharp. Likewise, 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week can lower stress levels, promoting vitality and boosting your mood, as well as benefiting your heart health! Whether it’s a walk in the park with family, yoga with some friends, or a personal training session, we are all bound to see the benefits of living an active life!

So, how can you incorporate exercise into your life so you too can see the benefits too?
